Sales and Application Engineer
IMS Gear is a leading international manufacturer of plastic and steel gears, planetary gearboxes, and gear driven actuators. We are seeking a Sales and Application Engineer to join our team in Querétaro.
The Sales and Application Engineer is responsible for achieving sales growth within the industrial and automotive market segments.
The Sales and Application Engineer will provide support primarily for our factory in México, but he/she will also collaborate regularly with various groups at our headquarters in Germany and at other IMS Gear locations around the world.
The ideal candidate needs excellent verbal and technical skills to present our products and help our customers select the right solution for the job. The candidate must be able to work and communicate concepts and ideas with other engineers and designers.
Essential Job Responsibilities
• Visits customers, as required, to achieve design-in of IMS Gear products and total customer satisfaction
• Facilitates design-in opportunities by providing competent and effective technical and application support to customers and automation integrators
• Review customer specifications and develop complete technical plus commercial proposals
• Recognizes opportunities for new products and suggests changes to existing products to meet changing market needs
• Assists in establishing strategic pricing for assigned products
• Continuously monitor the market and competitors and determine how to best position IMS Gear products
• Participation in marketing activities (e.g. fairs, tech shows)
• Sales planning / forecasting for assigned product segments (Market performance, potential, trends, price, customer potential, etc.)
• Interact closely with Sales, Business Development, Operations and Headquarters
• Multi-time zone coverage when needed
Education and Experience
• Bachelor of Business Degree required, concentration in Mechanical Engineering preferred
• 3-8 years of experience in a Sales and Application Engineering position
• Manufacturing / industrial experience required, automotive preferred
• Planetary gearbox knowledge highly desired
• Knowledge of injection molding, machining, gears, and electro-mechanical actuators is a plus
• Strong communication and problem solving skills
• Experience working in a diverse, international environment, preferred
• Ability to work proficiently with MS Office applications
• Fluent in English, German language skills are a plus
